Throwback Thursdays presents: James Blunt – 1973

Let’s not pretend. When James Blunt dropped “You’re Beautiful“, you couldn’t help but sing along. Say what you want about the record now, it’s a classic. This weeks TBT isn’t that song (clearly), but it’s another one of his gems. “1973” served as the lead single from his sophomore project, “All The Lost Souls” and was released back in July 2007.

With Gorillaz’ highly-anticipated “Humanz” project dropping tomorrow, this week’s #TBT comes from the virtual band. A personal favourite, “Stylo” sees the band team up with veteran singer/songwriter Bobby Womack and legendary rapper Mos Def. The track was released back in February 2010 and served as the lead single off their third project, “Plastic Beach“. Jamie Light – Lies

I always wanted to mix glitch elements with R&B to give my music a unique vide and the result was “Lies“, which I wrote about a previous situation.”

Lies” is the debut single from rising star Jamie Light. With a sound similar to PBR&B, the self-produced record serves as the lead single from his upcoming EP, “RITUALS“, due to drop in June. After delivering a stellar debut, Zayn Malik is back with a brand new record. Linking up with Canadian artist PARTYNEXTDOOR, “Still Got Time” serves as the lead single from Zayn’s as-of-yet untitled sophomore project.
