Throwback Thursdays presents: KiD CuDi – Mr. Rager

Since I moved back to London back in 2001, music has played a massive part of my life. But to this day, no artist’s work has ever really spoken to me as much as KiD CuDi’s music has. Back when he dropped “A KiD Named CuDi” in 2008, I found in his music, an artist with whom I can relate. Be it the pill addiction, nights spent binge drinking, trying to escape the realities of life with weed or coke, arguments with loved ones or dealing with anxiety, his music is my escape. Even when shit got REALLY bad, and ending it all seemed like the best option, Cudder’s penned a song to get you out of that dark place. He’s written the soundtrack to my life (no pun intended). I’d even go as far as saying the guy is my hero. And I know for a fact there are some people out there, some in the same boat, battling their own demons, that will agree with me. So when I woke up a couple of days ago, and read his message to his fans on Facebook, my heart sank. I mean, here’s a guy who has saved my life on many occasions, who now needs to be saved himself. I know there’s no chance he’ll ever read this, but Scott, if you do, the World needs you. The album can wait. Get yourself sorted out, because at the end of the day, your health and well-being is more important than dropping a record. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Hopefully you’ll come through this stronger than ever.
