Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap @ Hammersmith Apollo (19/07/12)
Last night I was at the European premiere for Ice-T’s brilliant “Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap“, a documentary about Rap music, with interviews from various artists from the genre. After the screening, Ice-T and special guests (Grandmaster Melle Mel, public Enemy’s Chuck D and Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon) held a Q&A session with the audience, and ended the night with an incredible performance from each of the artists. If you love Hip-Hop and get the chance to go for this documentary, do it. Drop everything and go. It does NOT disappoint. Below is footage of some of the performances, shot by yours truly. So last night I was one of a lucky few who got to see the multi-talented Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) live. One word? Dopeness. Performing at London’s XOYO, he performed tracks from Culdesac, EP, his debut album Camp and his latest offering, Royalty, which if you haven’t already, you can download here. Enjoy the footage!
